Speaker on behalf of CIISF/IDGF: How to practise your responses
Speaker: Matt Palmer
JCSC has run a number of incident simulations across various vertical segments in Jersey, and they’ve been really well received. But how can the average organisation prepare itself to respond to an incident, particularly with regard to practising the response, with minimal call on third parties?
Speaker on behalf of BCS: Who gets the final decision?
Speaker: Dave Cartwright
One of the most difficult elements of responding to an IT incident is taking difficult decisions. Will a reboot restore the service, or is there a risk of the server simply not coming back up at all? We often have to make things worse to make them better, but if we need to impact a service in the line of fault-finding should we have to hunt down the CEO or can the team on the ground have the authority to take the decision?
